Dr Martins-Mourao is a Clinical Psychologist with additional training in Neurophysiology (QEEG and ERPs), Neuropsychology and a Doctorate in Psychology awarded by the Institute of Education, University of London.
He is a Chartered member of the clinical division of the British Psychological Society BPS and a former academic who lectured Psychophysiology and Mental Health at the Open University, where he also founded and coordinated the activities of the QEEG & Brain Research Lab, dedicated to the research of anxiety disorders and the identification of biomarkers for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
He is an Associate Fellow of the BPS, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the British Neuroscience Association (BNA), and the Society for Applied Neuroscience (SAN). He also sits at the board of the International Society for Neurofeedback Research - Research Foundation (ISNR-RF), in the US.
His other interests include Theology, comparative religion and screenwriting.
